Phases after graduation...
Phase 1: The over enthusiastic phase, where you're ready to offer your talents to the world around you.
Phase 2: When you realize that the world is not interested in what you have to offer.
Phase 3: When it dawns upon you, that it is not the world's interest in you, but your interest in the world that matters.
And by interest, I refer not to the exchange of talent for the sake of self interest - that was part of phase 1.
By 'interest in the world', I refer to an ever-kindled love for the world, and undying curiosity to learn more about the world, an unperturbed observation of what happens around you, and a deep rooted understanding that the world is not a mere passive recipient of your talents, but a dynamic nurturer of the same. An appreciation of its infinite bounties, worth wonder and marvel.
And as you marvel at the grand scheme of things, you understand that you are part of it - that the world has chosen to sustain you. There's got to be a purpose.
So the journey from phase 1 to phase 3 is basically one from 'emerging' to 'merging'.
